Which size should I choose — S or L?
Choose Small (S) if your pet has severe matting or very dense fur (Golden Retriever, Husky, Maine Coon). The 9 teeth are spaced wide to slice through tough knots. Choose Large (L) for regular grooming and thinning on medium-to-long coats — the 17 teeth remove loose fur and finish the coat smoothly.
Does it hurt my pet?
No. All tooth tips are rounded to prevent skin scratching. Use light, even strokes — the sharpened inner blades cut the mat, not the skin. Start gently on sensitive areas.
Does it work on cats as well as dogs?
Yes. Both sides work on cats and dogs with medium to long coats. Especially effective on long-haired cats prone to matting (Persian, Maine Coon, Ragdoll).
How do I use it correctly?
1. Start on a dry or slightly damp coat. 2. Hold the handle firmly and work in short strokes in the direction of fur growth. 3. Use the 9-tooth side first to break up mats, then the 17-tooth side to thin and finish. 4. Never yank through a tight knot — work from the tip of the mat inward.
How do I clean it?
Pull collected fur off the teeth after each session. Rinse under the tap. Air dry. No soaking or brush cleaner needed.
What coats does it NOT work on?
It is not designed for very short-coated breeds (Boxer, Dalmatian) or wire-coated terriers. It works best on medium, long, and double coats.
